Your brain data is yours.

Check Yeah is operated by Leucocholy Media, LLC, a small company run by its founder, Rick Brown. When this policy says “we,” that’s who it means.

What we collect

Check Yeah stores the things you enter: your habits, check-offs, rest days, brain-state check-ins (energy, focus, medication taken, optional notes), and your preferences. To sign you in we store your email address and an account ID; if you sign in with Google or Apple we also receive the display name they share with us, which you can change. Optional AI micro-stepping (Premium) sends only the task text you type to our AI provider to generate steps; it is not used to train models.

Emails from us

We use your email address to sign you in and to send the account messages you ask for, such as a confirmation link or a password reset. Once in a while Rick Brown may also write to you personally, to ask how the app is working for you or to tell you about a change that affects your account.

  • These come from a person, not a mailing list. We send no advertising and no newsletters you did not ask for.
  • We do not give your address to anyone else for their own marketing.
  • We do not put your habits, check-ins, or notes in an email.
  • Reply “stop” to any of them and we will not write again, apart from messages needed to run your account.

Sending a one-off to someone

You can send a one-off to another person. What travels is the text you typed, the day it is for, and your display name. If you send a link, anyone who has that link can see those three things until it expires (7 days) or is used; so share it the way you would share a message, not a public post. The person you send it to decides whether to add it to their list, and nothing about them, their habits, or their list comes back to you except whether they accepted. If someone chooses “always add from you”, your one-offs land on their list directly; they can switch that off any time in Settings, and so can you for people who send to you.

Location (Premium home reminders)

Check Yeah can remind you about a habit when you arrive at or leave home. This is optional and off until you set a home location in Settings. When you tap “Use current”, the app reads your device's location once and saves those coordinates on your device only. It then asks the operating system to watch a small area (about 150 m) around that spot, including while the app is closed, so it can show a local notification when you cross it.

  • Your location and home coordinates are never sent to our servers, to our service providers, or to anyone else.
  • We do not keep a history of where you have been. The app only learns “inside” or “outside” the home area.
  • You can clear the home location at any time in Settings, or revoke the location permission in your device settings. Either stops the feature immediately.

What we never do

  • We do not sell your data. Not to advertisers, not to brokers, not to anyone.
  • We show no advertisements, run no ad trackers, and do not use the advertising ID.
  • We do not use your health-adjacent data (medication, energy, focus) for anything but showing you your own patterns.
  • We do not read your contacts, photos, files, calendar, messages, microphone, or health data.

Crash reporting

We use Sentry to learn about crashes. Reports include the app version, device model, operating system version, and a random installation identifier so we can tell how many devices hit a problem. Reports are scrubbed before they leave the device: no email address, no names, no IP address, and no habit content are attached, and we do not link crash reports to your account.

Website analytics

On checkyeah.app (the website and web app, not the mobile apps) we use HeyCatch and Vercel Web Analytics to understand which pages get visited and how people find us. HeyCatch may store an identifier in your browser to recognize a returning visit. When you are signed in, it sees a random account ID and whether you are on the free or Premium plan — never your email address, your name, or anything you write. Habit names, one-offs, and notes are excluded from analytics; inside the app we record only plain counts such as “a habit was completed.”

Payments

Premium subscriptions are processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play) and managed through RevenueCat. We receive your account ID, an anonymous subscriber ID, and your purchase and entitlement status. We never see your card or payment details.

Where your data lives

Your account and habit data are stored with Supabase (our database and authentication provider) and are encrypted in transit. Our service providers (Supabase, Sentry, RevenueCat, HeyCatch, Vercel, and our AI provider) process data only on our behalf to run the app; we do not share your data with any third party for their own purposes.

Your controls

  • Delete your account any time from Settings → Danger zone. This permanently removes your account and all of your data from our database.
  • Archive habits, clear your home location, or turn off notifications at any time in the app.
  • See Delete your account for the full steps and what is deleted.

Children

Check Yeah is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

Changes

If we change this policy in a way that matters, we'll update the date above and note it in the app.
